Artistic Modernity

The previous kitchen was tiny, outdated, and not within the client’s taste. They wanted to open up the entire room to an open concept kitchen that flowed into the living room and dining room.

The one client was an artist with many beautiful and unique ideas that he wanted to incorporate into the kitchen’s design. Louise worked closely with the clients to bring their visions to life.

The finished kitchen was funky with rustic accents. The clients chose slab pillow maple doors that flip upwards for the cabinets. They have a charcoal finish with modern-style hardware. The drawers have infinity sliders, a white melamine interior, and soft close engineering.

Louise worked with contractors and the clients to build the most stunning part of the kitchen: a ceiling-high wine cabinet archway. The contractors were able to build a drop-down ceiling to accommodate the artist’s idea, creating a masterpiece.

Louise Smith was extremely excited to have been asked by these clients to do another job for them; this was Louise’s third project with the couple! The customers were doing an entire home renovation and requested that Louise help design their kitchen.
