Mohawk Road West

In this home Louise took on the design of the kitchen, along with all vanities, the laundry room and the family room built-in.

In the kitchen, the focal point is the large island in Benjamin Moore's Hale Navy, with an ogee profile and furniture kick, both of which give the centrepiece a more furniture-like look. The cooktop is custom fitted, with a decorative custom hood, pot filler and a gas range. To give the cooking area a bit of character, she protruded the cooktop along with the spice rack pullouts on either side.

The cabinets features include: lit display cabinets above, polished chrome hardware, and decorative furniture kicks under the cooktop and sink. The sink is a beautiful Sil Granite Blanco, in the colour Cinder, which coordinates well with the rest of the kitchen. Louise included a built in oven/microwave combo, as well as a pull out recycling and garbage bin. The stainless steel fridge is bordered by two columns, aiming to give the fridge a more custom look. There’s also a servery, with a built in wine cooler – perfect for entertaining.

Through the living room, Louise designed beautiful built-in cabinets that surround the fireplace, which is provides additional storage and display opportunities.

In the laundry room, Louise went with more rustic style cabinets, using a European melamine for durability in this high traffic area. The customer wanted something that wouldn’t bump, scratch or dent with repeated use, and this style was perfect to achieve that goal. With quartz countertops and an under light valance, the laundry room marries function and fashion perfectly.

Louise chose furniture height cabinets for all the vanities, with four posts and decorative side panels to give it a modern rustic look. In the master bath, Louise designed a his and hers sink with pure white countertops with a straightedge profile, a complement to the patterned marble floor.
